ABOUT DR. IORIO

Matt Iorio, MD

Fellowship-trained hand and reconstructive surgeon specializing in peripheral nerve surgery, microsurgery, and complex trauma reconstruction.

Dr. Matt Iorio was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, before heading to college at the University of Chicago. He then trained at Georgetown University School of Medicine for Plastic Surgery, and the University of Washington before going to teach Plastic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and the University of Colorado.

Dr. Iorio has spent over a decade building nationally recognized programs in orthoplastic surgery, nerve surgery, wound care, and hand surgery. He became the youngest full professor in the department of surgery at the time of his academic promotion. His expertise is supported by more than 130 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 24 textbook chapters, and he is regularly sought as an expert speaker at international conferences and patient advocacy events.

What drives Dr. Iorio is his work with patients, listening to their goals, solving difficult problems, and providing care that improves their daily lives. His practice philosophy combines evidence-based medicine with compassionate, patient-centered care. Whether treating acute trauma, chronic pain, or patient rejuvenation, Dr. Iorio partners with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that restore function and improve quality of life.

And when not in the operating room, he enjoys exploring the outdoors — camping, off-roading, and anything his dogs want to do.
